Tanya finally explains to Vita that she has been missing band practices because she has leukemia, and needs frequent chemotherapy. Pablo explains to Vita that even though their mother died of cancer, hers was a very aggressive form, and leukemia like Tanya's is usually treatable, though not curable. He shows her more detail on his research, which would go faster if he could get funding for a PCR machine.
