Zombie King #0
Zombie King #0 (2005) kicks off with a chilling rural encounter when a farmer and his son stumble upon a stranger performing unsettling acts on one of their cows—nothing like butchering, and certainly not what it seems. As tension mounts and a panicked shot rings out, the stranger begins to move toward them, revealing something far from human in the way he moves. Meanwhile, a team dispatched by those who created him races to contain the situation before the truth gets out. Written and illustrated by Frank Cho, with cover art by Frank Cho, this first issue blends eerie atmosphere with a quiet dread, setting the stage for a story where the line between man and monster blurs.

A cattle farmer and his son happen upon a stranger in their pasture, and he's doing something awfully strange to one of their cows. And he's not eating it. A bungled warning shot gets the stranger's attention, and he begins to make his way toward the two farmers. It's clear the creature isn't entirely human, and the two men desperately try to stem its creepy, dangerous advance. Meanwhile, the men responsible for the creature's creation send a squad out to retrieve it and cover up its existence.
