The Check-Out
4 pp · humor; western-frontier

Bob Colt checks into the Hotel Dry Gulch expecting a restful stay, but a series of misunderstandings with the desk clerk—starting with an argument about breakfast in bed and escalating through complaints about the room's quality—turns into an escalating battle of insults and grievances. When the clerk finally suggests he check out, Bob seizes the opportunity to deliver one last cutting remark about the establishment before making his exit.

Chuck Waggin

Chuck Waggin hears that his friend Hank Dodd is in trouble—the rancher's running short on cash and might lose his spread. When Chuck learns that Hank can't sell his cattle because they're too thin, the humor kicks in with a joke about just how scrawny those animals really are.

The Search
10 pp · western-frontier

When renegade Comanche warriors disguise themselves as Pawnees to raid the peaceful plains, Bob Colt and Pablo undertake a dangerous hunt through Indian country to stop the masqueraders before their success sparks a wider tribal war. Working with the honorable Chief White Cloud, the two partners search camp after camp in a tense game of cat and mouse, knowing that one wrong move could ignite the very bloodshed they're trying to prevent.
