This issue presents two distinct stories. "A Man's Last Dream" follows Frank Gordon, a creature from the half-world of night who breathed and lived but felt nothing, as he experiences supernatural encounters and ultimately discovers the reality of human sensation and emotion. The second story depicts American Eagle's cavalry counterattack against a tribe of Indians led by Black Fox, resulting in a decisive military victory; American Eagle pursues Black Fox through multiple engagements before the Indian forces are routed, and the narrative concludes with American Eagle and other soldiers receiving gratitude from local settlers for their service. A final comedic segment shows a reunion between law enforcement and the criminal Mike Grillo, known as "The Rat," after seven years.
