Comet #129 is an anthology comic featuring multiple stories. "Poochie" depicts a dog reluctant to attend a fancy dress dance, but after being fitted with a false nose mask, Poochie gets swept up in the festivities. "Shorty the Deputy Sheriff" shows Shorty catching a gold grabber and thwarting burglars during a snowstorm. "Jimmy's Magic Cat," a longer story by George E. Rochester, follows Jimmy Watson and his sister June as they use an enchanted cat named Tutty to catch cinema thieves and foil bullies. Additional features include "Rusty Riley," "Smithy," "Young Sir Nigel," "Wily Willie," and "At the Zoo," along with a pen pal selection page.
