The True Life Story of Georges Carpentier

From a young miner's chance meeting with a traveling acrobat, Georges Carpentier trained his way to becoming the idol of European boxing circles, earning his nickname "Tiger-Orchid of the Ring" through a clean and colorful career that saw him claim titles across multiple weight classes. When World War I called, Carpentier answered—first as a chauffeur, then as a pilot in France's air corps, where he downed four enemy planes before returning to the ring to face the unbeatable Jack Dempsey himself.
