Lords of the Upper Air
8 pp · horror-suspense

A rescue team scaling Mount J-4 discovers Colonel Edward K. Grimes's journal, which recounts his doomed expedition's encounter with the mountain's spectral inhabitants—creatures the locals warned were capable of turning climbers into ghostly servants. As the rescuers read deeper into Grimes's account of vanishing teammates, inexplicable voices, and shadowy beings that defy the laws of nature, they realize the horrors described in those pages may still be very much alive on the peak. The Lords of the Upper Air closes in with a final, chilling revelation that suggests the mountain's grip extends far beyond those who came before.

Grab-Bag
6 pp · horror-suspense

A group of college girls picks up a mysterious trunk of unclaimed merchandise at an auction to stock their grab-bag party, but the items they draw—a silk scarf, a pair of shoes, a mirror, a jeweled pin—seem to carry a sinister claim from beyond the grave. As the girls begin wearing their prizes, each falls victim to a vengeful force that demands the items back, and one by one they meet terrible fates. A chilling tale of supernatural possession and the price of taking what doesn't belong to you.

Professor Broussard [the Werewolf Hunter]

In "null," a mysterious magic bottle arrives at the doorstep of an old acquaintance, unleashing a haunting memory of a sailing ship from twenty years past. Broussard is drawn into a vivid, unsettling recollection of his time at sea, where the line between past and present begins to blur.

The Witch's Doll
8 pp · horror-suspense
Dr. DrewLeander MilesJennie ParisHiggins

In "The Witch's Doll," Dr. Drew tracks down the missing explorer Leander Miles, only to uncover a chilling horror: Miles is using an African "kaffir" witch doll to torment the actress Jennie Paris, his victim bound by a sinister, voodoo-like magic. The story unfolds with creeping dread, as the line between obsession and supernatural possession blurs in a tale of isolation and unseen forces.
