"The Outlaw King" follows King Alfred's capture by the Danes; Eric and Black Simon mount a rescue, infiltrating the enemy stronghold and battling Guthrum and his forces through underground passages to free the king. A separate Robin Hood story shows Robin facing execution, while Lady Marian ventures into Sherwood Forest to rally his friends for a rescue mission. Additionally, a Sexton Blake adventure features Blake and Elmer Gant confronting mysterious adversaries, with Buddha statues mysteriously sinking through the floor during their encounter.
