A school rehearsal drama unfolds as a teacher coaches Doug in his stage role while a girl named Golly becomes jealous of Doug's leading lady. When Doug takes the role seriously, he becomes distracted from his romance with Linda, who grows worried and confronts him. As rehearsals continue and a school play performance approaches, complications arise when a rival named Freddie Fillbert and Linda's cousin Willie become entangled in the romantic tensions, culminating in confusion over dating and prom plans.
