A mysterious masked rider named Murlock issues escalating threats to rancher Mr. Drew, demanding he sell his cattle at unfair prices, and when Drew refuses, Murlock and his gang attempt to steal the entire herd. Lucky Star devises a clever trap involving powder kegs in a canyon pass to corner the thieves—but the real surprise comes when Lucky discovers the sheriff's office holds a clue to Murlock's true identity. With help from his loyal friend Poncho, Lucky unmasks the culprit and recovers the cattle, all while uncovering Murlock's scheme to profit from the new refrigerated railway cars opening up eastern markets.
