A-magasinet

A-magasinet, published by Bladkompaniet (later Schibsted) from 1927 to 1944, was a pioneering Norwegian comic magazine that ran for 55 issues. It introduced international adventure strips to Scandinavian readers, prominently featuring Lee Falk’s The Phantom (drawn by Ray Moore) and Frank Buck’s jungle exploits (illustrated by Ed Stevenson), alongside the locally beloved, wordless humor strip Adamson by Oscar Jacobsson (drawn by William Guttormsen). The series is notable for bridging American comic traditions with Norwegian publishing, helping to establish a lasting comics readership in the region.
