About the series
A quiet, introspective series from Viz Media, Afterschool Charisma (2010–2016) imagines a world where the children of history’s greatest figures—from Napoleon to Freud to Marie Curie—are cloned and raised together in a secluded, elite boarding school. The story follows one of these clones, Shirō, as he navigates identity, legacy, and the crushing weight of being a copy of a genius. Written and drawn by series creator Kumiko Suekane, the twelve-issue run is a thoughtful, character-driven meditation on nature versus nurture, set against the simmering tensions of a school where every student is a living monument to a past they never chose.
