About the series
Akim, published by Bozzesi from 1960 to 1961, is a 48-issue Italian comic series that follows the jungle adventures of its titular hero. Created during the peak of the Italian "fumetti" boom, the series is most associated with artist and writer Giovanni Luigi "G.L." Bonelli, who crafted the character's enduring pulp-inspired exploits. Though brief, its run helped solidify the archetype of the strong, silent jungle hero in European comics, influencing the genre for years to come.
