About the series
From 1969 to 1982, Alan Ford was the flagship series of Italian publisher Editoriale Corno, a satirical spy-fi comedy following the misadventures of a hopeless secret agent and his bumbling, underfunded organization. Created by writer Max Bunker, the series was visually defined by the detailed, expressive artwork of Paolo Piffarerio, Magnus, and Giovanni Romanini across its 162-issue run. A cornerstone of Italian comics, it blended absurdist humor, social critique, and surreal espionage, earning a devoted readership for its cynical take on bureaucracy and heroism.
