About the series
A short-lived but distinctive French series from Éditions de Lutèce, Andoche ran for eight issues between 1972 and 1973. It is primarily remembered as the creation of artist and writer Jacques Kamb, whose expressive, cartoonish style defined its whimsical adventures. The series follows the misadventures of its bumbling, good-natured title character in a lighthearted, slapstick vein typical of the era's Franco-Belgian humor comics. Though brief, Andoche remains a charming footnote for collectors of Kamb's work and fans of 1970s European small-press comics.
