About the series
Reg Smythe’s long-running, internationally syndicated newspaper strip about a lazy, beer-loving working-class Englishman and his long-suffering wife, Flo, was collected into a slim three-issue series by Nordisk Forlag in 1973. Smythe wrote and drew every daily and Sunday installment, building a world of sharp, affectionate humor around Andy’s dodges, schemes, and inevitable comeuppances in the terraced streets of Northern England. Though brief, this Danish-published run captures the strip’s classic early-1970s tone, offering a tidy snapshot of one of the most recognizable comic characters in British popular culture.
