Angelic Layer

Dark Horse's 2012–2013 Angelic Layer is a compact two-issue manga-style comic that adapts the early chapters of CLAMP's sci-fi sports series. It centers on a young girl who discovers a competitive world where fighters called "Angels" are controlled by their human partners through a neural interface. Though brief, this edition brought CLAMP's distinctive art and the series' core concept—a fusion of friendship, rivalry, and high-tech arena combat—to an English-language audience.
