Audax, a Brazilian superhero series launched by Editora Abril in 1978, ran for 11 issues and stands as a distinctive piece of the country's comic book history. The character was created by the team of writer Gedeone Malagola and artist Rodolfo Zalla, who blended local sensibilities with the global superhero archetype. Though short-lived, Audax is remembered as an early, homegrown attempt at a Brazilian caped crusader, reflecting the burgeoning national comics industry of the late 1970s.
