From 1998 to 2000, Jerry Kranitz published the four-issue comic series Aural Innovations, a short-lived but distinctive title most consistently written and drawn by Christian Mumford. The series explored themes of sound and perception, blending surreal, music-infused storytelling with Mumford's signature visual style. Though brief, it stands as a niche artifact of late-'90s independent comics, capturing the era's experimental spirit through a singular creative vision.
