Avant Hergé

From 2025, the Belgian academic press Presses universitaires de Liège launched Avant Hergé, a scholarly comic series written and drawn by Richard de Querelles. The series explores the early, lesser-known works and influences of the legendary cartoonist Hergé, placing his formative years in historical and artistic context. With its first issue, it establishes a unique blend of comics and academic analysis, offering a fresh lens on the pre-Tintin era for enthusiasts and researchers alike.
