About the series
From 1953 to 1957, French publisher Périodiques et Editions Illustrées (PEI) brought the legendary American cowboy Pecos Bill to European audiences in this 99-issue comic series. Anchored by the prolific Italian writer Guido Martina and artist Gino D'Antonio, the strip reimagined the tall-tale hero through a distinctly European lens, blending frontier adventure with the dynamic, expressive style of mid-century bande dessinée.
