アヤシモン [Ayashimon]

In this short-lived 2022 Shueisha series, a young man obsessed with yakuza films and street brawls finds himself thrust into a hidden world where supernatural beings called ayashimon rule the criminal underworld. Written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku, the creator of Jigokuraku: Hell's Paradise, the series blends gangster drama with folkloric horror, though it concluded after only three collected volumes. Despite its brief run, Ayashimon is notable for Kaku's dynamic, grotesque art style and his attempt to merge modern Tokyo gang politics with classic Japanese monster mythology.
