Baci dalla provincia

In this two-issue series from 2005–2006, published jointly by Vertige graphic and Coconino Press, Italian cartoonist Gipi crafts a spare, intimate portrait of small-town life. Through his signature loose, expressive ink work and quiet observational storytelling, Baci dalla provincia captures the bittersweet textures of provincial existence. Though brief, the series stands as a early showcase of Gipi's emerging voice, presaging the acclaimed graphic novels that would follow.
