Back to Mysterious Island

In 2008, Bluewater Productions launched Back to Mysterious Island, a five-issue comic series that reimagined Jules Verne’s classic adventure for a modern audience. Primarily written by Max Landis and illustrated by Kevin Gentilcore (with photographic elements), the series follows a new cast of explorers stranded on the enigmatic island, blending sci-fi intrigue with survival drama. Though short-lived, it stands as an early, ambitious genre project for Landis and a distinctive entry in the publisher’s line of literary adaptations.
