Batgirl
DC · 2011–2016 · 53 issues
About the series
In 2011, DC Comics relaunched Barbara Gordon as Batgirl in her own solo series, a pivotal move that restored her to the costume after years as Oracle. Written primarily by Gail Simone with later runs by Brenden Fletcher and Cameron Stewart, and brought to life by artists including Babs Tarr, Fernando Pasarin, and Ardian Syaf, the series balanced gritty street-level crime with a vibrant, youthful energy. Over its 53-issue run, it explored Barbara’s resilience, her relationship with her father Commissioner Gordon, and her determination to reclaim her identity as a hero in Gotham City.
