Batman: Nove Vidas

In 2003, Brazilian publisher Mythos Editora launched Batman: Nove Vidas, a two-issue series that reimagines the Dark Knight’s world through the lens of hardboiled crime fiction. Written and drawn by a team of Brazilian creators, the story casts Batman as a gritty detective in a noir-infused Gotham, where familiar faces are recast in pulp archetypes. Though brief, the series stands out for its atmospheric, cinematic art and its bold, self-contained take on the character, offering a distinct Latin American perspective on the Batman mythos.
