In 2021, DC and writer Mattson Tomlin, alongside artist Andrea Sorrentino, reimagined the early days of the Dark Knight in Batman: The Imposter. This three-issue series strips Batman down to his rawest elements, pitting him against a copycat who uses similar methods for murder, forcing a young, uncertain Bruce Wayne to confront his own creation. Sorrentino's stark, shadow-drenched visuals amplify the psychological tension of a Gotham where the line between vigilante and villain blurs.
