About the series
In 1988 and 1989, IPC published just two issues of Battle Annual, a hardcover collection capping off the legendary war comic's storied run. The volume is most closely associated with artist Joe Colquhoun, whose gritty, detailed work had long defined the title's most celebrated strips. Though brief, these annuals serve as a final, compact showcase of the grim, character-driven war storytelling that made Battle a cornerstone of British comics.
