Beetle Bailey
Dargaud · 1984–1985 · 2 issues
About the series
In the mid-1980s, French publisher Dargaud released a short-lived, two-issue Beetle Bailey comic series, offering a European take on the long-running American military humor strip. This brief run presents the classic, slacker private and his Camp Swampy comrades in a format distinct from Mort Walker's original newspaper comics. While a minor footnote in the character's vast history, the series is a curious artifact of international licensing, showing how a beloved Stateside property was adapted for a different readership.
