In 2023, Mila Verlag revived the classic Flemish comic Bessy for a new generation, drawing on the series' long history with stories by Willy Vandersteen, Bernd Götz, and Karel Verschuere. Illustrated by Verschuere and Frank Sels, this ongoing run continues the adventures of the noble horse and her human companions in a Western setting. With 16 issues and counting, the series honors the legacy of the original while introducing fresh narratives for modern readers.
