Best-Seller Comics

Service Publishing Co. launched Best-Seller Comics in 1946 as a single-issue experiment, a one-shot that attempted to adapt popular literary works into comic form. The issue is most closely associated with artist Hal Forrest, with ghosting work from Reynold Brown. Though it never continued beyond that solitary installment, the title stands as a curious, early post-war attempt to bridge the gap between prose bestsellers and the burgeoning comic book market.
