About the series
In this short-lived 1968-1969 DC series, the manic, grinning vigilante known as The Creeper leaps from the pages with a chaotic energy that only co-creator Steve Ditko could fully capture. Written primarily by Ditko alongside Denny O'Neil and Sergius O'Shaughnessy, the six-issue run pits television reporter Jack Ryder against a bizarre rogues' gallery, all while exploring the wild duality of a hero who seems as unhinged as the criminals he fights. Though brief, the series remains a cult touchstone for its distinctive, kinetic art and its place in the late Silver Age's shift toward weirder, more personal superhero stories.
