Bizarro [Seriesamlerklubben]

In the mid-2000s, Danish publisher Hjemmet/Egmont released a four-issue series collecting Dan Piraro’s surreal, single-panel Bizarro newspaper strips, with local translations and contributions by Iselin Røsjø Evensen. Known for its deadpan absurdity and wordplay, the strip finds humor in the mundane turned sideways—talking animals, baffled office workers, and the occasional existential crisis. This series brought Piraro’s distinctive, minimalist linework and offbeat sensibility to Scandinavian readers, offering a compact sampler of one of the most consistently clever comic strips of its era.
