Black Condor
DC · 1992–1993 · 12 issues
About the series
In the early 1990s, DC Comics reimagined its Golden Age heroes for a modern audience, and Black Condor was a standout of that effort. Written primarily by Brian Augustyn with art by Rags Morales, Cooper Smith, and Mike Gustovich, this 12-issue series introduced a new, Native American hero who inherits the mantle of flight from his predecessor. Grounded in political and environmental themes, it’s a thoughtful, character-driven superhero story that remains a cult favorite for its ambitious tone and striking visuals.
