Blokhedz

A short-lived but distinctive series from Egmont Ehapa, Blokhedz (debuting in 2006) offered a hip-hop-infused superhero origin story. The project is most closely associated with the creative team of writer Mike Tanner and artist Shaun "Soulful" Jones, who brought a streetwise energy to the genre. Though it ran for only a single issue, it stands as a noteworthy early example of a comic built around original music and urban culture.
