Warren Ellis and Dave Johnson teamed up for this taut, two-issue Dark Horse series from 2013–2014, a hard-edged slice of crime fiction that follows a disgraced cop turned freelance bloodhound. Johnson’s stark, atmospheric art grounds Ellis’s lean, propulsive storytelling in a world of moral compromise and relentless pursuit. Though brief, it’s a sharp, self-contained gem that showcases two masters of the genre working in perfect sync.
