Blue Beetle
Fox · 1940–1950 · 40 issues
About the series
Over four decades and forty issues, Fox Publications introduced Dan Garret, a rookie cop turned armored hero as the original Blue Beetle, a character who would go on to have surprising longevity in comics. The series was shaped by a rotating team of emerging talents, including Robert Kanigher and Will Eisner on scripts, with artists like Charles Nicholas and Jack Kamen defining the hero's early adventures alongside supporting player Joan Mason. Though a product of its Golden Age era, this run established the core identity of a hero who would later be reimagined by other publishers, making it a foundational piece of costumed crime-fighting history.
