About the series
In the early 2010s, Dargaud brought the beloved shojo manga Ao Haru Ride to French readers as Blue Spring Ride, a tender 13-issue series about second chances and the ache of young love. Following high schooler Futaba Yoshioka as she reunites with her first crush, Kou Tanaka, after years apart, the story explores how people change—and how some feelings linger. Best known for the delicate, emotionally resonant work of creator Io Sakamoto, this adaptation captured the bittersweet heart of teenage longing for a European audience. It matters as a key example of Dargaud’s push to translate popular Japanese romance manga for the Francophone market.
