In 1990 and 1991, Brazilian publisher Editora Abril brought the classic Franco-Belgian Western Blueberry to Portuguese-speaking readers with a four-issue series. Featuring the iconic art of Jean Giraud (Moebius) and the gritty, revisionist scripts of Jean-Michel Charlier, these comics follow the hard-luck cavalryman Mike Blueberry through morally complex adventures set against a vividly rendered post-Civil War frontier. This brief but impactful run introduced a generation of Brazilian fans to one of the most influential and artistically celebrated Western series in comics history.
