Boerke

Boerke, a Dutch-language comic series launched in 2009 by Oog & Blik and later De Bezige Bij, follows the whimsical, slice-of-life adventures of its titular character across three issues. Created by cartoonist Pieter de Poortere, the series is known for its deadpan humor, minimalist black-and-white art, and a distinctive, almost wordless storytelling style that captures the absurdities of everyday existence. Though brief in its run, Boerke has become a cult favorite for its charmingly bleak yet endearing take on rural life and friendship.
