BPRD: Hollow Earth [B.P.R.D.: Hollow Earth]

In 2002, Dark Horse launched B.P.R.D.: Hollow Earth, a three-issue miniseries that expanded the world of Mike Mignola's Hellboy by focusing on the wider Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. Written by Mignola alongside Christopher Golden and Tom Sniegoski, with moody art by Ryan Sook, the story sends Abe Sapien, Roger the Homunculus, and Kate Corrigan on a mission to a subterranean realm, while Johann Kraus makes his debut as a key operative. This series marked the beginning of the B.P.R.D. as a standalone team book, deepening the lore of the Hellboy universe and shifting the spotlight from its titular hero to the ensemble that would carry the saga forward.
