About the series
Jean-Michel Charlier and Victor Hubinon launched this long-running Belgian aviation adventure series at Dupuis in 1949, following the exploits of U.S. Navy pilot Buck Danny and his squadron mates through decades of aerial combat and technological change. With over sixty albums and counting, the series evolved through the hands of later writer-artist Francis Bergèse and current teams like Frédéric Zumbiehl and Gil Formosa, maintaining its reputation for meticulous aircraft illustration and realistic military storytelling. A cornerstone of Franco-Belgian comics, Buck Danny stands as one of the most enduring and technically respected aviation series in the medium.
