Burton & Cyb

In this short-lived but inventive 1989–1992 series from Comics USA, a washed-up, alcoholic private eye named Burton is reluctantly paired with Cyb, a hyper-intelligent, genetically engineered cat. Together, they navigate a rain-slicked, gritty cityscape, blending hardboiled detective tropes with a touch of offbeat sci-fi. Created by writer/artist John K. Snyder III, the four-issue run is remembered for its moody, expressive artwork and its surprisingly poignant take on an odd-couple partnership.
