Mike W. Barr and Brian Bolland reimagined Arthurian legend for a sci-fi future in this 12-issue DC Comics maxiseries from 1982–1985. King Arthur is reborn in the year 3000 to reassemble his knights and defend a technologically advanced Earth against a resurrected Morgan Le Fay. Bolland’s lush, detailed artwork gave the series a distinctive visual identity, while Barr’s story wove mythic themes into a futuristic setting. It remains a landmark for being DC’s first direct-market maxiseries and a bold fusion of fantasy and science fiction.
