Capitaine Sabre

In the 1980s, French publisher Le Lombard presented Capitaine Sabre, a compact seven-issue series that ran from 1983 to 1989. This comic follows the adventures of its titular hero, a swashbuckling captain, in a classic adventure style. The series is most closely associated with its creator, artist and writer, who brought a distinctive European comic sensibility to the pirate genre. Though brief, Capitaine Sabre remains a notable entry in the Franco-Belgian adventure tradition.
