Captain Atom

A short-lived but significant Atomic Age superhero series from Nation-Wide Publishing, Captain Atom ran for just seven issues in 1950–1951. The series introduced a costumed hero whose origin and adventures played on Cold War anxieties, though the creative talent behind it remains uncredited in the surviving ad copy. While brief, it stands as an early, pre-Marvel example of a nuclear-powered protagonist, predating the more famous Charlton Comics version by nearly a decade.
