Captain Canuck

A pioneering independent series from Comely Comix, Captain Canuck (1975–2004) introduced one of Canada’s first homegrown superheroes. Over its 16-issue run, the title was a labor of love for Richard Comely, George Freeman, and E. G. Letkeman, who together wrote and drew the adventures of Tom Evans, a heroic Mountie-turned-super-soldier. The series stands as a landmark in Canadian comics, proving that a distinctly national hero could thrive outside the American mainstream.
