About the series
Marvel’s 1968–1979 series gave the classic Captain Marvel name to the Kree warrior Mar-Vell, a cosmic hero trapped between Earth and his militaristic homeworld. With frequent contributions from writer/artist Jim Starlin and writer Steve Englehart, the book evolved from standard superheroics into a sprawling space opera, introducing key figures like Carol Danvers and Rick Jones along the way.
