In 1977, Guido Crepax launched this elegant, adult-oriented comic series for the Italian publisher Franco Maria Ricci, adapting the memoirs of the legendary 18th-century adventurer Giacomo Casanova. Crepax, the sole writer and artist, applied his distinctive, psychologically charged black-and-white linework and experimental panel compositions to Casanova’s famously libertine exploits.
