Challengers of the Unknown

From 1960 to the present, Challengers of the Unknown (published by Thorpe & Porter) launched a four-issue series that introduced a team of daring adventurers who faced the unknown after cheating death. Most frequently written by Ed Herron, Jack Kirby, and Dave Wood, and illustrated by Bob Brown and Jack Kirby, this short but foundational run established the high-adventure, science-fantasy tone that would define the team's legacy.
